How I crawled to success with WordPress (true facts).

Hey there!

I want to share a little story about me. How I started the to join the blogging commmunity. I will be taking about some challenges that I faced in the begining as well.

WordAds is an advertising platform for WordPress sites. When I created my first blog, I thought I had ventured in to something so so difficult because it was my very first site. I never knew what to do with the available editing tools on my site. I was given access to only a few tools at a time and thought that at some point, I would delete and forget of it which I eventually did. I had no regrets deleting it because I had not invested any money for it neither did I add any content because you know, I was totally a beginner. All this happened in the year 2016. I lost hope but didn’t give up yet.

In the year 2017-March, I decided to give it a nother trial, created a new site on a different platform that blew away my mind. This time, I had a unique experience on my WordPress website which is why I want to talk about it here.

When you create a website on WordPress, you have four price plans to choose from. There is a free personal(Basic plan), premum, Business and e-commerce plans The Free plan is number one on the list and this is what I dwelt on with my site for about a year. Throughout this period, I was busy learning how to blog meanwhile trying to create some good posts. It sounded unreal but also real some times. I began to go deeper in to learning how the whole WordPress systems works. That’s where I learnt about the other plans that I had left out. In fact with the free plan on WordPress, I was only making fan and wasn’t so serious about blogging but here is what made me to stand on my feet with much determination. ‘ The wordAds together with it’s features.’

As a beginner, I really had little belief that I would make money from a blog so, one day I decided to ask google ‘how do people earn from blogs?‘ From what I read on Google’s first result, I was able to know that blogs are paid for hosting adverts and campaigns of companies and payment is according to pay per click(PPC) which is the commonest method of payment for blogs.

It was high time I began to think of buying a domain name for my site, and get it hosted. That was a huge budget for me when looked at some hosting prices from other web hosts. When compared with the WordPress plans, I found it affordable to pay for both a domain and hosting on WordPress. It had simplified everything but I didn’t know. I never knew that WordPress had reduced domain and hosting costs for their clients. I upgraded to the basic plan which came with no plugins. Now to be sure of what I am talking about, let’s take a quick review of these plans below for WordPress site.

These plans are for blogs and personal sites and that’s a category where I belong.
CREAT A PERSONAL BLOG

As you can see the first plan (personal) is the cheapest with a small amount of $4 per month with a discount which is best for personal use. I began from here. But because of the objective that I had that was; earning from adds, this plan could not make me money for ads as it didn’t have any plugin that I could use in order to earn. The premium plan was my next option- $8 per month but there is a discount. I added just a few bucks to top up my initial payment on the personal plan and here I am. I came to discover new features in this plan though some were also in personal plan there were some additions. This plan works best for Freelancers and bloggers.

My experience with WordAds

Now as I mentioned earlier on, the personal plan doesn’t come with jetpack software options. Premium comes with already installed jetpack.

Install jetpack to you website

Now jetpack is a software which manages everything happening in your site, protects it from scam and manages the plugins instalation. WordPress premium plan comes with the jetpack system installed for you. You can add other plugins like Yoast SEO, Woocommerce and Google analytics for WordPress but these can only be applied in the business and e-commerce plans.

The Business and e-commerce plans are for small and big businesses respectively.
Buy a plan now

But both of the three plans above use word Ads to generate income. However, jetpack users are required to be on a premium plan($8/month – $99/year) to use WordAds. This plan is the very affordable no other website sells hosting services at such a low price. Get started with Woocommerce plugin monetize your website easily.

I will be talking in detail, the WordAds platform and how it actually works, in my next post.

    1. Hi, Frida!
Thank you for the inquiry. It is very much better to have a business plan even though you don’t want to sell any products. The importance of going for a business plan is that you will get all the support and tools to help you deal with SEO, design your pages, and be able to install any plugin of your choice. The biggest challenge is that not everyone can afford to purchase this hosting plan but it’s really worth having.
